Visualization Can Determine Your Golf Success

It’s well accepted that the process of visualization can improve your physical and mental performance, producing a complete new self image in your golf or any sport.

Continually, we see the mind’s power being harnessed for maximum performance in professional sports. Over and over, we see top athletes pre-programming themselves and their self images to the tasks in which they wish to excel . Very simply, self image will determine how well you will perform ……it has been proven in the past and continues to be true.

You must first synchronize your self image with your goal. If your inner thoughts about yourself do not mesh with the goal, you can not reach it. You must align your guidance system, your inner thoughts about yourself, to the goal to achieve the desired result.

  1. Plan a goal, a dream or a vision of success.
  2. You must visualize what you want to achieve and what you will feel like when you achieve it. See, hear and feel what it is like to achieve your goal.
  3. A bond is created between your goal and your vision of yourself, and your subconscious mind starts to fully believe it .
  4. You begin to behave in a manner that reflects your self image, the image of a person who can achieve the goal. When your self image aligns with your goal , you feel and act like the successful person. The previously poor golfer begins to feel and act like a low handicap golfer.
  5. You’ll begin to see results that align with the new you. You’ll achieve better results because your self image is now proving its deep beliefs.
  6. You will gain more confidence in yourself because you feel you’re getting near to achieving your goal. Physically, you will start to gain tangible results. The results are the solid belief builders.
  7. Then they feed off each other , the strong beliefs and good results begin to strengthen the self image more. And all three, beliefs, results and self image, become a self fulfilling cycle.

Go over the previously described process several times. Set your goal using sights, sounds and feelings. Visualize at least twice per day, just before sleeping and just after you awake . And remember that you must have achieved your desired goal in your internal visualization. Go for it, the sky is the limit!
